Project Description
BASKI is a social and personal competence training for people with disabilities who need comprehensive assistance. BASKI enables people with disabilities to voice their wishes, to articulate their own interests and collective interests, to reflect on past events on their own or with others, and to learn to make decisions and act autonomously. Methodological and didactic material developed especially for BASKI helps people who need some or comprehensive assistance voice their wishes and needs. One of the main focuses, therefore, is the training of basic skills.
The Basic Skills Training Model comprises the following subjects:
- a social and personal competence training for people with disabilities; small groups assisted by a trainer
- concomitant support and assistance from the disability care organization in creating an environment that aids the development of everyone involved
- a qualification program for psychosocial counselors
